Obituary
ABELA. On December 20, at St Vincent de Paul residence, JOSEPHINE of Msida, aged 77, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brother Charles, widower of Rita, her only niece Tanya Busuttil and her husband Winston, her two nephews Karl and Matthew, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence today at 2 p.m. for St Joseph parish church, Msida, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Children’s Cancer Support Group, Rainbow Ward, Mater Dei Hospital, will be greatly appreciated. Special thanks go to the staff at RB2A for their dedication. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
DEBONO. On December 20, MARGARET, née Ciavola, aged 72, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Paul, her sons Simon and his wife Angele, John and his wife Nadia, Andrew and his wife Rebecca, her daughter Angela and her husband Kevin Mallia, her brother Michael Ciavola, grandchildren, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass praesente cadavere will be held at Attard parish church today at 2 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
ZAMMIT CUTAJAR. On December 20, VICKY, née Baker, aged 62, passed peacefully away to eternal life after a long illness borne bravely and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her partner Derek, her daughters Roberta and Sarah and her husband Sean Portelli, her beloved grandchildren Julian and Leah, her mother Maisie, her brothers Edward and his wife Anna and John and his wife Alaine, nephew and nieces, Tony and Carole, family and friends. The funeral leaves St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, today at 1.30 p.m. for Balluta parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by private burial. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be welcome. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

8.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Archpriest Ġużepp Diacono Street, parts of It-Tiġrija and Dun Ġorġ Preca streets, Il-Mithna, Ġużeppi Rapa and Ġwann Camilleri streets, Tiġrija No.1 and Tiġrija alleys and surrounding areas in Xagħra.
8.30 a.m. in 3 p.m. in Martin Camilleri Square, Ċimċem, December 13, Papa Ljun XIII, Dun Ġorġ Preca and Tramuntana streets and surrounding areas in Nadur.
Mosta waste collection
The domestic door-to-door waste collection in Mosta will take place in the afternoon on Christmas and New Year’s eves and not in the evening, the Mosta local council said.
The collection of the black bags will start at 2 p.m. while the grey bags used for recyclable waste will be collected in the afternoon and not in the evening.
Christmas concert
A Christmas concert will be held at St John’s Co-Cathedral tonight, courtesy of the cathedral foundation, the Metropolitan Cathedral Chapter and the Institute of Mediterranean Studies. The concert starts at 7.30 and entrance is free. Women are requested not to wear stiletto heels.
