MIFSUD. On February 18, at Apap Institute, Sta Venera CARMELA, née Sciberras of Birkirkara, aged 88, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Josephine and her husband John, Mario and his wife Carmen, Emily and her husband Giovanni, Marielda and her husband Giacomo, Tessie and her husband Angelo and Clea, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchild, also all the residents of the home and all nuns and carers. Special thanks for all their dedication and support throughout her stay. The funeral leaves Apap Institute tomorrow at 9.45 a.m. for Sta Venera new parish church (opposite Apap Institute) where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Apap Institute would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Chesney, Seafront, Church, L-Ispnott, Fishermen, Sr James, St Elijah, Villeġġjanti and Wied Glavan street in Xgħajra.

Between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Alessio Erardi, Capuchins, Convent and Santa Domenika streets in Żabbar.

Between 8.30 and 11 a.m. in Bir Miftuħ, Vincenzo Dimech, William Baker, Pietro Gagliard, Toni Zammit and Ħal Resqun streets in Gudja.

Carnival contest

Church models

The Church Models Enthusiasts Association will be holding its annual exhibition at St Francis Hall, Melita Street, Valletta between March 12 and 26. The exhibits include church models, statuettes and other items connected to the religious culture. Opening hours will be 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 4.30 to 7.30 p.m.

Choral concert

A concert by the Amadeus Chamber Choir will be held at St Paul’s parish church, Valletta, on February 26 at 7 p.m. in aid of the Richmond Foundation. Entrance is free but a donation is appreciated.

Gozo opera

The Aurora Theatre, in Victoria, will present Giacomo Puccini’s Tosca on October 15. More information can be obtained by calling on 2156 2974/2155 9452.

Blood donation

The mobile blood donation unit will be available for blood donation next to Lourdes parish church, San Ġwann, tomorrow, from 8.30 a.m. till 1.30 p.m.
