If there was a person who lovingly did all the works of mercy, it was definitely Fr Leonard Mahoney, O. Carm.
He was kind, generous, ready to help anyone, and always available to others. Always with a smile on his face, which is so comforting and sadly very rare to see these days.
He had the beautiful gift of knowing how to be positively approachable to others, no matter who, even at times, with a great sense of humour .
Above all, Fr Mahoney was a very spiritual holy priest who had a strong faith in God.
A very well read, intelligent person and very interesting to listen to.
Father, thank you for everything and for always being there for me and others, all these many years that we have known you.
My deepest sympathy goes to his fellow Carmelite priests, family, especially his dear sister Marlene, who was always there for him by his side.
Till we meet again Father.
May you rest in peace.
