Mary Rose Grech and staff, Maternity Ward, Gozo General Hospital, write:

The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility. Proverbs 15, 33.

Rose, your sudden call to meet the Lord was also a call for us to reflect on the meaning of life. Who was Rose Mifsud? Rose was a midwife by profession, tendering her services at the Gozo General Hospital. She was a wife and mother. What distinguished her service was her profound faith.

Rose moved about her work in silent recollection, giving her patients that little extra care. "It is good that we see in all our patients the face of Christ," she told one of her patients just days before her demise. She showed them the same love and tenderness she shared with her family.

Goodbye Rose. Thank you for your silent testimony to a deep faith.

Heartfelt condolences to your dear ones, your mother Maria, father George, husband George, and your two precious sons, Mario and Reno.
