APS Bank and the Malta Handball Association (MHA) recently signed an extension to the existing national leagues sponsorship deal which has now been in force for one year.
The new sponsorship agreement now covers a two-year period.
Alfred Triganza, APS Senior Manager, emphasised that the bank has been encouraged to continue with its financial support to the MHA in light of the efficient and commendable ways in which the game's administrators have managed to utilise the funds allocated to it.
"Undoubtedly, no one can dispute the amount of advantages that youth derive from actively participating in similar activities, especially sports," Triganza said.
"Moreover, it is even better when such activities are conducted in such an organised manner, albeit on a voluntary basis."
Louis Borg, MHA president, expressed his gratitude for APS's constant support over the last year.
He also took the opportunity to thank the association's administrative body as well as the various volunteers and players for the effort and time allocated to training and competitive participation.
The National Leagues started last weekend with the first four matches from the men's and women's competitions at the University Sports Hall, Tal-Qroqq.
