Mario Aquilina endured a tough day on the Greek waters yesterday, dropping from 33rd to 38th with 130 points in the Laser Class (single-handed dinghy) standings.
On Monday, strong gusts forced organisers to postpone races three and four which were eventually completed yesterday afternoon as light winds made it impossible for any sailing to be held in the morning.
Aquilina, who started the day 33rd, fared poorly in race three, finishing 40th from 42 competitors. In the following regatta, the Maltese sailor produced a much better performance to finish 26th.
Brazil's Robert Scheidt is now leading the Laser Class after he followed up his victory in race three with a third place finish in the fourth regatta to go top with 15 points.
Andreas Geritzer, of Austria, plummeted from first to seventh after a dismal third race in which he placed 34th.
The Laser event continues today with two more races.
