Archbishop emeritus Paul Cremona is resting in hospital after a minor intervention on his heart on Saturday evening, the Curia said.

It said his condition is good.

Archbishop Charles Scicluna during a homily on Sunday urged the faithful to pray for his predecessor.

Cremona, 75, was archbishop of Malta between 2007 and 2014.
