The AFM inaugurated ceremonial helmets during the changing of the guard parade in Valletta today.

The soldiers and bandsmen marched wearing colonial-style white pith helmets - also known as pith hats - similar, but smaller than those worn by the police in ceremonial occasions.

The helmets are emblazoned with the army emblem in gold.

Similar hats are also worn for ceremonial occasions by the Royal Marine and the Canadian forces.
