Transport Malta has asked Arriva to boost capacity on the Cirkewwa service after passengers at St Paul's Bay were stranded.

In its latest update on the bus service, TM said its inspectors had continued monitoring the routes and bus scheduling during the morning peak hours (7-11 a.m.)

It noted that apart from Route 2 (Vittoriosa) all scheduled trips were performed on the routes being monitored and extra trips were performed on Route 3 (Xgħajra), Route 51 (Imtarfa)  and Route 72 (Qrendi).

Although all scheduled trips were performed on Route 41 (Cirkewwa) the service at St Paul's Bay experienced capacity problems and passengers were stranded on bus stops.

Transport Malta said it had insisted that Arriva provide additional capacity to ensure that maximum waiting times are respected on this route, in particular at St Paul's Bay.
