Arsenal's injury woes increased yesterday when manager Arsene Wenger revealed that midfielder Alexander Hleb needed knee surgery and would be out for up to eight weeks. He was injured while on World Cup qualifying duty for Belarus against Scotland last weekend.

"I really can't remember having as many injuries as this but it is not a crisis," Wenger said.

French midfielder Mathieu Flamini is expected to play in midfield with Brazil's Gilberto missing the game as he only returned yesterday from World Cup duty in South America.

Ashley Cole, Sol Campbell and Thierry Henry are out.
