Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Leh-mann has been banned for two European matches after throwing water at the referee and a linesman following Arsenal's Champions League exit in March.

Announcing the punishment yesterday, ruling body UEFA said Lehmann had twice thrown water over Italian referee Massimo De Santis and a linesman in the players' tunnel after Arsenal's 1-0 win over Bayern Munich at Highbury on March 9.

Despite their win, Arsenal lost the first knockout round tie 3-2 on aggregate.

UEFA said on their website that German international Lehmann was found guilty of "a deliberate pestering act" that displayed a "striking lack of respect towards the referee".

UEFA also banned Ferencvaros coach Csaba Laszlo from the touchline for two matches following incidents at the UEFA Cup game against Scottish club Hearts on December 16.

Laszlo was sent from the touchline by the referee during the Hungarian team's 1-0 win in Scotland for criticising match officials.

UEFA said he returned to the touchline at the final whistle and an altercation between officals from both teams broke out, with Laszlo "verbally provoking" Hearts manager John Robertson who then tried to kick him.

In addition to Laszlo's ban, Ferencvaros were fined €6,434. Robertson was warned about his future conduct.

Feyenoord have been ordered to play their next home European game behind closed doors after objects were thrown on to the pitch during their UEFA Cup game against Sporting Lisbon in Rotterdam on February 24.

Feyenoord, knocked out by Sporting, were also fined €16,100.
