Art competition, exhibition

The Malta Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce is organising a national art competition and exhibition open to both local and foreign artists living in Malta. It is sponsored by the Malta Trade Fairs Corporation.

The competition/exhibition is one of the events being organised to mark the society's 150th anniversary.

Interested artists should collect a copy of the regulations and application form from the society at Palazzo De La Salle, 219 Republic Street, Valletta. The closing date for applications and the presentation of works is October 25.

An exhibition of the accepted works is to be held at the Trade Fair Grounds, Naxxar, during the Antiques and Classical Interiors Fair from November 28 to December 1 and during the Christmas Fair between December 6 and 15.

First, second and third prizes are Lm250, Lm100 and Lm50 respectively. Certificates will also be given to the winners and to other artists whose works receive an honourable mention.
