Jeffrey Mizzi, of the Mizzi Organisation, is the new president of the Association of Car Importers (ACIM) for 2002/2003, taking over from William Shaw.

The honorary secretary is Johann Cuschieri of FMC Motors Ltd.

ACIM provides consultative and advisory services in the field of car importation, particularly with respect to new policies and EU directives. As an alliance it also serves to promote negotiation and/or arbitration for the settlement of any industrial disputes on behalf of its members. Decisions with respect to ACIM affairs are taken through the direct participation of all its members.

One of ACIM's overriding objectives for this year is to promote safety on Maltese roads. It also intends to address environmental and regulation issues relating to cars.

ACIM is composed of the principal car importers in Malta.
