This match was one-way traffic with lowly Mtarfa miles away from their opponents who are now joint runners-up in the standings with Mdina Knights.

Attard were 4-1 up at half-time following goals by Mark Saliba (2), Firas Aboulezz and Elon Cassar. Richard Attard scored Mtarfa's only goal.

After the break Attard added more goals from Kurt Zahra (2), Mark Saliba (2), Cassar and Aboulezz for a resounding 10-1 victory.

Zejtun obtained a deserved point as Mdina failed to keep up their charge at the top.

Matthew Francalanza hit the post with a shot early on. Mdina broke the deadlock on 36 minutes with an Ayrton Buhagiar goal. Zejtun were back on level terms three minutes later, Mario Farrugia hitting home an unstoppable drive after he was put through by Steve Shead.

The Corinthians took the lead on 65 minutes when Farrugia scored from routine distance. However, five minutes later Francalanza beat Fardell for a deserved Mdina equaliser.

Siggiewi moved further up the standings after chalking up their fourth successive win. Xghajra's hopes for a play-off berth suffered a severe setback.

Eman Ciappara scored the winner for Siggiewi on 24 minutes after profiting from an indecision inside the opponents' half.

Six minutes later Siggiewi were reduced to ten players when Stephen Said was sent off for a second caution.

Xghajra defender Anton Muscat suffered the same fate on 58 minutes.

Leaders Zebbug Rangers were held to a goalless draw with mid-table side Fgura United showing great resilience and determined defensive play to preserve a clean sheet despite their opponents' pressure.

Fgura had a Vince Testaferrata header saved by Martin Pace and at the other end Gordon Mallia's free-kick was saved in style by Ranier Farrugia.

Fgura raided the Rangers' goal twice early in the second half but Matthew Spiteri and Claudio Pace failed to find a way through.

Zebbug pushed forward but keeper Farrugia was in fine form to deny Nazzareno Abela.

Keith Farrugia headed over the bar from a good position as the Fgura fort held tight to halt Rangers' stride.
