The autopsy tests on the decomposed body of a man washed ashore at it-Torri l-Abjad Bay, near Armier on Wednesday morning show he died after falling from a height.
The fall led to multiple injuries, including fractures of the long bones.
The police said yesterday tests were now in hand to scientifically identify the body.
However, clothing on the body indicated it belongs to German Dietmar Sprengel, 41, from Esslingen who was seen falling off the cliffs at Ta' Bardan, limits of Sannat, by two tourists on January 4. No identification documents were found on the corpse.
The German was on a two-week holiday and had been reported missing by his friend, another German.
