In such circumstances prevention is undoubtedly better than cure, especially as during and after an operation patients' immunity tends to weaken, thereby making them all the more vulnerable, especially were open wounds are the case and the bug enters into the blood stream.
I passed through the Super Bug ordeal as a mother and sincere Christian spirit makes me feel relieved that others might have been protected from such a heartbreaking experience.
Memories of my child's sufferings never cease to haunt me, while precious memories of good times we shared together yield some comfort.
My only daughter Karen would have been 17 this month - this year we won't be celebrating her birthday; we will just go to the cemetery and every parent who lost a dear child in tragic circumstances knows what that means.
May more be done to avoid unnecessary deaths, as is my constant prayer.
