Local councils are being invited to nominate youth organisations within their locality to be considered for the Gharfien Nazzjonali Zghazagh fis-Socjeta, an annual award for youth organisations as official recognition for their voluntary work. A cash prize of Lm500 will be presented to the winner.
The aim of the award is to identify groups of young people who perform voluntary work in the community throughout the year.
The group may be from a national or local organisation or any other group of young people who work on a voluntary basis with a particular sector in society or in any locality in Malta or Gozo and even abroad.
A selection committee is to be appointed by the Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education to assess all nominations and select a number of finalist organisations and the winner.
The winners for 2002 will be announced during a presentation ceremony that will be held in March.
Nomination forms and further information are available from the Department of Youth and Sport on 21228041, dept.youth.sport@gov.mt
