On December 4, a cold and windy day, pupils of Patri Tumas Scerri Primary School, Bahrija, challenged the elements and ventured on a fun walk in the surrounding beautiful countryside.

A good number of parents joined their children on the walk; while others visited an exhibition in the hall set up by Sedqa.

On their return to school, the pupils found Zazu, the popular character, ready to welcome them back. He applauded them for their enthusiasm and generosity in collecting money for a good cause, namely Ir-Razzett tal-Hbiberija and for the school contingency fund.

Then the pupils enjoyed some entertainment provided by the band of Guardian Angel School directed by Mr T. Vella. This was a happy way to celebrate together the beginning of 2003 as the year for the disabled.

A troupe of students from Maria Regina Junior Lyceum, trained by their teacher Ms D. Borg, gave an energetic gymnastic performance, which was initiated and co-ordinated by Bahrija school's PE teacher, Ms Y. Bugeja.

Mrs A. Bartolo, head of school, said that it was a happy occasion whereby our sense of belonging and togetherness was enhanced and at the same time the talents of other students from different schools were appreciated.
