Etnika, the popular folk band, has just returned from a performance in Germany's Euro-Scene Festival in Leipzig where they played in front of a 200-strong audience of festival participants and theatre goers.

The band's performance, which marked the closing of the six-day event, was held in the ruins of an art-deco ballroom, and marks the band's debut in Germany.

This performance brings to an end the band's season, which reached a climax in summer with its annual showcase Etnikafe, Giant Dream.

The trip to Germany is the most recent in a string of international performances this year in festivals in Italy, Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, Libya, Spain, Brussels, Ireland and the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Etnika's presence in Leipzig was made possible through the invitation of Euro-Scene, an internationally acclaimed contemporary dance and theatre festival.
