Charles J. Farrugia has been appointed executive director of HSBC Bank Malta plc.

Following his appointment, the board of directors now includes six Maltese nationals, including chairman Albert Mizzi, executive director Philip Farrugia Randon and directors Victor Scicluna, Louis A. Farrugia and Peter Paul Testaferrata Moroni Viani.

The other three directors on the board are Dyfrig John based in London, the local chief executive officer, Shaun Wallis, and the chief operating officer Martin Wilkins.

Mr Farrugia, who has been employed with the bank since 1975, has occupied various managerial posts.
