The board of directors of Bank of Valletta has appointed Tonio Depasquale as the bank's chief executive officer.
Mr Depasquale is responsible for the overall conduct of the bank's operations, management, executive conduct, administration and organisation and for the administrative conduct of all its officers and other employees.
Addressing the board yesterday, BOV chairman Joseph F. X. Zahra said the appointment of the CEO had completed the appointments in the bank's senior management structure.
The latest appointment had also further outlined the functions undertaken by the board, which deliberates and decides policy, and the bank's management, which executes and implements the policy, he said.
Mr Depasquale joined the bank in 1969 and has since held a series of senior management positions within the group. He was appointed chief officer credit management and retail business in 2002.
