After reading recent statements and letters in the press about the higher charges levied by HSBC, I would like to share with your readers some of the comments made by the British Consumers` Association as reported in the Daily Mail on May 3, 2002.

This "watchdog" has checked the interest rates on current accounts and interest charged on large overdrafts by the "big four" - Barclays, RBS-Natwest, HSBC and Lloyds TSB - and how they compare with the best of the rest.
