HSBC Malta's Zejtun and Floriana branches have won the bank's latest Branch of the Quarter customer service awards.

Valletta won the Area of the Quarter Award while HSBC Stockbrokers received the Department Customer Service award, for the first quarter of 2004.

The branch and area awards, which are divided to differentiate between branches which are located in very densely populated towns or commercial areas and others located in much smaller villages, are based on feedback from customers.

The best department award, however, is based on feedback from HSBC employees nominating the departments which offer them best assistance and service internally.

"Floriana, Zejtun and Valletta deserve these awards for their success over the past quarter. I am sure that these branches will continue to strive to offer HSBC's customers the highest possible level of service in the months ahead," HSBC's chief operating officer, Martin Wilkins, said.

"Congratulations also go to HSBC Stockbrokers. A continuous high standard of service is one of HSBC's top priorities and these awards are an incentive to all to continue giving our customers the best."

Mr Wilkins, together with HSBC's head of personal banking Ray Briffa and senior communications manager Marco Grech presented the awards.

Cash prizes were presented to the respective managers: HSBC's Zejtun branch manager Godwin Cachia; HSBC's Floriana branch manager Albert Borg Cardona; HSBC's Valletta area manager James Dunbar Cousin; and the director of HSBC Stockbrokers, Charles J. Farrugia.

The employees of the winning departments can use the award to organise a social event of their choosing.
