Spanish champions Barcelona were held to a 3-3 draw by Yokohama F-Marinos yesterday in the first of two close-season matches in Japan. Daisuke Oku scored a late equaliser from the penalty for the J-League champions against an under-strength Barcelona side.
Several Barcelona players did not make the trip to Japan including Ronaldinho and club captain Carles Puyol.
Yokohama went in front after one minute through Daisuke Sakata but French midfielder Ludovic Giuly silenced a crowd of 60,000 with a 13th-minute equaliser.
Hideo Oshima restored Yokohama's lead in the 25th minute but two goals from Brazilian Thiago Motta put Barcelona in control until Oku's penalty 12 minutes from time.
Barcelona take on Urawa Reds on Wednesday.
