Three men from Zejtun, aged between 35 and 54, all of whom are well known to the police, are expected to be charged in court this morning following a "wild west type brawl" in a Marsascala bar on Sunday.
Police sources said they had not seen such a fracas for a very long time. The three men allegedly had an argument and started fighting in the Morning Star Bar at Marsascala and when the owner, a former soldier, used a canister of tear gas to evict them from the bar, the men allegedly went on a rampage, smashing objects inside the bar.
A number of people suffered slight injuries but a child related to one of those who are to be charged today was hospitalised and released yesterday afternoon after inhaling the tear gas.
Insp. Emanuel Cassar investigated.
