Visiting the Upper Barrakka Gardens, Valletta, last Sunday afternoon a tourist couple approached me, asking about a monument there. I was lucky enough to have some knowledge of this particular monument but there are others one would not easily understand what they represent.

I would, therefore, like to suggest to the Valletta local council, in cooperation with the government, to display a description in various languages next to the monuments  there. Sponsorships could be sought for this project, which will surely be appreciated by the many tourists who visit the Upper Barrakka every day. The Lower Barrakka, located close to the Mediterranean Conference Centre, is also very popular among visitors.

Some of the monuments need to be cleaned up and perhaps given some form of restoration too.
