Leanne Bartolo achieved a remarkable result at the World Fitnerss Federation Pro Championships after she managed to place fourth in the Bikini Pro event in Mexico.
For Bartolo, the current European champion, the result takes further significance when one considers that she has only returned to training just less than two months ago.
“Good things happen when you believe,” Bartolo said on her Instagram account, referring to her fouth placing.
“A big well done to all athletes for stepping on the World Stage and for representing our respective countries! We all share a common passion and we are all winners for our strength and determination.
“Hard work will go a long way. Only 7 weeks ago I got the all clear to start training again and I was debating whether I was still in time to give it a go! It was tight and I couldn’t push as much as I wanted because of my back injury!
“Yet again I fought my insecurities and pushed harder than ever to try and obtain good results in a much shorter time. I impressed myself with how committed and determined I can be.
“I feel proud to have overcome my own insecurities, limitations and self doubt!
“Thank you to my fiancé who supports me without limits, to my family & friends who have my back, no matter what! And to all those who have supported me in one way or another.”
