Baseless accusations

The recent criminal and vile arson attacks culminated last week when columnist Daphne Caruana Galizia's house was targeted. Ms Caruana Galizia and various other self-acclaimed authorities once again conveniently accused the "racists" and the "fascists" of being the perpetrators of these terrorist attacks.

These two labels are normally attached to respectable people, who are of a rightist ideology and all those who form part of the anti-immigrant lobby.

I reiterate that right-wing movements are neither racist nor fascist. Least of all are they criminal arsonists.

Such biased and baseless accusations are only misguiding the police in their investigations. It is, therefore, no surprise that no one has yet been arraigned despite the huge number of such attacks. Let the law take its course and stop judging people simply due to unfounded prejudice.
