Lent has inspired this month's main story in Pink on the secluded world of cloister nuns who choose to forfeit materialistic pleasures for a life of prayer.

Pink has infiltrated a convent of 15 cloister nuns to present an eyewitness account of how they lead their humble lives and how they battle their emotional demons.

The article in the upcoming issue, which comes out with The Times tomorrow, also includes the firsthand account of a 25-year-old woman who has chosen to join a cloister convent in October.

Another interesting article focuses on area secondary schoolgirls afflicted with social problems who have no interest in education. They face a bleak future.

Other interesting stories pack the fifth issue of Pink, including a piece on local designers Beatrix and Mugi; laser eye surgery; speed dating in Malta and a diet diary on the trials and tribulations of losing weight.

This month's WomanKind section focuses on the three most important women in the life of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini, while the regular vox pop asks women what they think about International Women's Day.

The monthly fashion section is packed with the latest trends and accessories to add a touch of spring to your wardrobe.

This issue contains the usual fix of beauty, health and fitness, food, the effects of acne on adult women, as well as prizes to be won for those who write in with their feedback on the magazine and articles that have touched them.

Pink is published by Allied Newspapers Ltd, printed by Progress Press Ltd and produced by Mediamaker. It is edited by The Times' journalists Fiona Galea Debono and Ariadne Massa and designed by Helen Cassar Torreggiani and Joseph Schembri.
