The Maltese Bartenders Guild has awarded the Joseph Gusti Bartender of the Year Award to two of its members, James Aquilina, who works at the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard, and Neville Azzopardi, who is employed at the Island Hotels Group's Bugibba...

The Maltese Bartenders Guild has awarded the Joseph Gusti Bartender of the Year Award to two of its members, James Aquilina, who works at the Corinthia Palace Hotel in Attard, and Neville Azzopardi, who is employed at the Island Hotels Group's Bugibba Holiday Complex.

The award is presented to bartenders who excelled in their work during the previous year.

Mr Aquilina was presented with the Flairtending Award while Mr Azzopardi the Classical Award. The awards are sponsored by the Malta Tourism Authority.

Both bartenders last year represented Malta and the Guild in Las Vegas where they took part in the World Cup Cocktail Competition organised by the International Bartenders Association.

Mr Azzopardi won this prestigious competition and was declared the International Bartender of the Year for 2004.
