I visited the Xlr-8 car show earlier this month at the Trade Fair Grounds in Naxxar and was positively surprised by the high level of cars put on show. A big well done goes to all those who took part in such a professional event. There was an impressive number of cars and the competition was spectacular.
The only sour note was the presentation of the very last award, the best car overall. There were three cars that between them won 11 trophies.
All those present were awaiting the announcement that one of these three amazing cars would be named best car overall. To the surprise of all present, another car won the best car award. Everyone was left wondering about how the cars were judged.
The organisers should explain to the public the criteria by which awards are given and the points that the judges gave in order to safeguard the credibility of such a costly event.
This would attract more visitors and participants to such events.
