The Waterfront Hotel on the Strand in Sliema was presented with the Best Thomson Winter Sun Hotel award at the annual international Thomson Gold Medal Awards ceremony at the Savoy Hotel in London.

This is the fourth Thomson award the Waterfront Hotel has won since opening for business in May, 2000.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Charles Gurassa, chairman, TUI Northern Europe and Airline Group, said the hotels receiving these awards represented the top five per cent of all the properties featured by Thomson in their worldwide programmes.

The awards reflect feedback from Thomson clients who comment on overall satisfaction, standards of service and food quality.

The Waterfront's general manager, Sonny Portelli, received the award on behalf of the hotel.

The Waterfront Hotel is part of the Mizzi Organisation.
