All cat and dog owners know fleas and ticks can be a nightmare – they may even seriously damage the animal’s health.

Fleas and ticks cause irritation, allergies and infections. A flea bite can cause severe irritation or serious allergies.

Your pet can also be infected by worms if he swallows fleas when licking himself.

Fleas can carry pathogenic bacteria, including the one that causes cat scratch disease in humans. Ticks transmit fatal diseases such as babesiosis, Lyme disease or ehrlichiosis.

Only five per cent of the flea population is visible on the animal: 95 per cent hide in sofas, carpets and cushions as microscopic  eggs, larvae and pupae.

The best way to protect pets:
• Use a product that kills ticks in under 48 hours, fleas in 24 hours and stops homes being infested by flea eggs and larvae.
• Start treatment before you find fleas or ticks on your pet.
• Treat all pets every month.

Safe: for dogs and cats, puppies and kittens, pregnant and lactating queens and bitches.
Practical: the dosage should be adapted to the pet’s weight.
