Recent claims that two cloned babies have been produced were met with an outcry both locally and internationally, calling for a ban on such irresponsible scientific practice.

As we have stated in past issues, NCW is deeply concerned at the lack of local legislation on bioethics and the implications of biotechnological procedures that may be applicable to human life.

The developments we are witnessing in this field call for the urgent need for Malta to ratify the European Convention on Bioethics.
