Birkirkara coach Stephen Azzopardi recently spent six days in Italy as guest of Serie A leaders Milan.
Azzopardi's invitation to study the youth set-up of the European champions was made by former Milan player Angelo Colombo, the director of their youth sector, who first met the Birkirkara coach during a course in Coverciano a few years ago.
During his six-day stay in Milan, Azzopardi followed a number of training sessions of Milan's youth selections at the training complexes in Linate and Vismara where he also met Alberigo Evani and Franco Baresi, two all-time Milan greats now in charge of youth selections.
Azzopardi was also introduced to Milan's head coach Carlo Ancelotti when he toured the club's training facilities in Milanello.
