Birkirkara yesterday became the first Maltese football club to launch an SMS Alert service which is aimed to keep the fans updated with all the latest news about their team.

To use the service, one can send a blank SMS to 613050 from the mobile set and an SMS alert message will deliver the information back to the sender.

This service is available to Vodafone subscribers at a charge of 10 cents per message.
