Alfred Balzan, president of the Blood Donors' Association, and secretary Philip Chircop are in Paris to attend the 18th Congress of the International Federation of Blood Donors, Associations between tomorrow until Sunday.

The last congress was held in 2002 in Malta.

A spokesman for the Malta association said Mr Chircop is expected to be nominated for the post of vice-president of the international federation.
