Mr Mallia has been elected MBA chairman.
Bank of Valletta's CEO has been elected chairman of the Malta Bankers' Association.
Mario Mallia said that he looked forward to further enhancing the Association’s role and standing during his term as Chairman. He replaces HSBC's CEO Andrew Beane as MBA chairman.
“All the 28 banks currently operating in Malta are members of the MBA, which can therefore represent itself as the voice of the banking industry in Malta”, said Mr Mallia.
The MBA forms part of the European Banking Federation, which incorporates 32 national banking associations representing 4,500 banks with 2.5 million employees.
