Bank of Valletta has launched wireless payment terminals that will enable and accommodate mobile businesses, such as couriers, car hire firms and traders whose mobile businesses require on-the-spot payments on delivery of the product or service.

The efficient wireless electronic point of sale (EPOS) terminal system is the latest addition to the BOVACCEPT family of card acceptance products offered by BoV. The system is operated like normal EPOS terminals employed in retail shops and other establishments.

However, they are not restricted to a landline but operate through the GSM protocol. This project is being launched and co-ordinated thanks to a direct collaboration with Go Mobile, the mobile operators who are providing the SIM card and coverage on the terminals.

"This new wireless terminal system should prove to be an extremely efficient and effective payment channel both for the businesses operating the service and the customer who will now start enjoying added convenience," Tonio Depasquale, Bank of Valletta CEO said.

"This latest development is proof of our ongoing commitment to enhance our product and service offer to the benefit of both our business and individual customers. Moreover, we are also proud that this project has led to a close collaboration with Go Mobile.

"Through their commitment and expertise in the field of telecommunications, we are now in a position to provide a higher level of support to our business clients."
