An agreement was signed recently between Bank of Valletta chairman Joseph F.X. Zahra and Reginald Fava, chairman of the Malta Business Foundation and president of the Malta Chamber of Commerce, under which the bank is seeking to collaborate with the MBF to strengthen its contacts with European Union institutions especially the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Central Bank.
The arrangement is one of many BoV has with the Malta Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Industry (FOI). It is designed to assist BoV to keep abreast with developments within the EU.
BoV will also be assisted in the organisation of informative sessions for bank executives and management on aspects like agriculture, manufacturing and services. It will also be possible for BoV to tap networks that the Malta Business Bureau, located in Brussels, has built.
"This new agreement with the Malta Business Foundation continues to expand the network of alliances that BoV has been building over the past years. It complements other initiatives the bank has taken, including the membership of the European Savings Banks Group and of the European Mortgage Federation. These initiatives are fundamental in contributing towards the success of BoV's Euro-Mediterranean internationalisation strategy," Mr Zahra said.
On its part, the MBF is very satisfied to have been able to enter into yet another sponsorship agreement. Similar arrangements have been made with other enterprises, making it possible for the MBF to offer its services to both sponsors and the private sector.
