BoV... official banker and sponsor of GSSE Malta 2003

Bank of Valletta has become the official banker and sponsor for the Games of the Small States of Europe Malta 2003.

In announcing the deal, Joseph Cassar, Malta Olympic Committee secretary general, said that the 10th GSSE next year would allow 1,200 athletes and officials from 10 different sporting disciplines to come together in an international multi-sport event on home grounds.

BoV has a long tradition of supporting local sport. In fact, BoV has been associated with the Olympic movement in Malta for a number of years now in similar sponsorships.

Such partnership deals help to finance the essential training and preparation for Maltese elite and aspirant athletes and in the long run help to sustain the infrastructure and resources necessary to develop sport, Cassar said.

Tonio Paris, Executive Head Strategy and Knowledge Services at BoV, said his institution was proud to be associated with the MOC and the GSSE 2003. He said these Games should also prove to be an important opportunity to promote Malta on an international level.

The BoV GSSE sponsorship follows that announced recently with leading telecommunications operators Maltacom.
