The Institute of Financial Services (UK) has awarded Bank of Valletta the 2003 Financial Innovation Award for the world's best Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy. This award was presented to BoV chairman Joseph F.X. Zahra at the sixth annual Financial Innovation Awards ceremony on November 27 at the Guildhall in London.

Bank of Valletta was shortlisted with four other international financial institutions: Primeline, Barclays Private Clients, Fortis Bank Asia, and Allianz Cornhill of Germany. Speaking at the presentation of the award, Mr Zahra said this was an extremely important achievement for the bank:

"Winning such an award on a global platform only goes to confirm the aptitude, creativity, motivation and professionalism of Bank of Valletta's people. Moreover, this award underlines the bank's commitment to employ cutting edge technology in support of its strategic orientations."

John Sergeant, former Political Editor for ITV News, delivered the closing speech.
