Four teenage boys have been conditionally discharged after they admitted to stealing diesel last year.
The boys, aged between 15 and 18, pleaded guilty to stealing Lm60 worth of diesel to the detriment of Fort Block Limited on July 4, 2004.
The 18-year-old, who was 17 at the time of the theft and therefore a minor, also admitted to driving without a licence.
Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera heard how the boys had a clean criminal record, had cooperated with the police and paid back their share of the stolen fuel.
The 18-year-old was conditionally discharged for three years, fined Lm25 and banned from driving for a year. The other three were conditionally discharged for two years.
All four were placed under the care of a probation officer.
Police Inspector Raymond Cassar prosecuted.
