Repair works along the St Elmo breakwater arms at Grand Harbour are expected to start on Wednesday, the Malta Maritime Authority said.

The authority notified mariners that works have been extended to the shore end of the St Elmo breakwater and to the bull nose of the Ricasoli breakwater.

The repair works will be carried out by divers assisted by barges and the support boat Kirby which will display the lights and shapes according to regulations.

Mariners are urged to give a wide berth when the support boat Kirby and barges are visible at these breakwaters.
