Three men held up the driver of a company car in Birzebbuga yesterday and stole his briefcase.

The briefcase contained an unspecified amount of money and documents.

The police said preliminary inquiries showed that the car was stopped by three hooded men in another car in Summit Square. Two of them were armed.

They asked the driver, a 55-year-old man from St Julian's, to hand them the keys to his car along with the briefcase.
