Every now and then, our theatre audiences are treated to a special production. Some years ago it was Theatreworx's production of Closer and Actinghouse's Fat Men in Skirts. A couple of years ago it was again Theatreworx with Marat/Sade.
This year has already produced an electrifying piece of theatre which is up there with those already mentioned. Those who could find tickets for Unifaun Theatre's The Pillowman were treated to a unique performance by the actors involved. Saying that it was the performance of a lifetime is simply an understatement. May I congratulate all those involved and encourage them to keep this kind of stuff coming. Our theatre scene is starved for this kind of brilliance.
As a last comment I would like to note that none of the productions in the above list, however subjective, was produced at the Manoel Theatre. Why?
