The first series aired on Amazon Prime Video last year

British TV series The Assassin is being filmed in Malta, with production continuing locally until early June.

Filming is taking place in various locations across Malta, including Valletta, Floriana, Rabat, Attard, Mellieħa, Marsaskala and Siġġiewi, the Culture Ministry said in a statement.

The series has a Maltese budget of over €17 million and is employing a total of 141 crew members, 120 of whom are Maltese, the ministry said.

The production is benefiting from the 40% cash rebate incentive offered by the Malta Film Commission.
