After a month of regular play, the National Scrabble League 2010, sponsored by Tetley Teas, has so far registered few surprises.

In Division One, reigning champion Theresa Brousson is perched firmly at the top of the standings with former champion, David Delicata, clambering behind in second place.

Delicata will have to raise his game significantly from here on for him to pose any challenge to Brousson's supremacy and to defend his position from the forward charge of former champion Sammy Mangion and Christine Strawbridge who have both had a strong start to the league.

In Division Two, as expected, veteran Frans Farrugia is on top with Josephine Mayo following closely behind.

The picture is less defined in Division Three where as many as five players, including the experienced Laura Borg, who is currently on top, are separated from each other by as little as two points.

Meanwhile, the second one-day tournament of the year saw 30 players battling it out over seven games.

In the end, Brousson beat Mario Saliba comfortably on spread to claim the top prize.
