My wife and I visited San Anton Gardens during our three-week holiday in Malta in September last year. There were many visiting tourists from a cruise ship in the gardens that day and they, like us, were appalled to see three children throwing stones and lumps of baked earth at the birds in the cages.
These were budding hunters, no doubt. Certainly of the same mentality in attacking defenceless birds.
