Budget Calculator 2026: How will income tax changes affect your take-home pay?
This application will tell you how much money you'll take home with the new tax brackets announced on Monday
Finance Minister Clyde Caruana announced a series of measures in his budget speech that could change your personal finances.
Among the flagship measures are new family tax bands, which dramatically slash taxes for families with children.
These, along with other measures such as the COLA - which is now down to €4.66 per week - will likely change your take-home pay from next year.
So how will his spending plans affect your take home pay? Enter your details in our budget calculator provided by Buddy - Cloud HR & Payroll Software, to find out.

You will need to insert your gross salary, the number of overtime hours you work and how much you get in bonuses and car allowance. This will automatically calculate your tax rate for all of them.
Then you will need to check the box marked Calculate 2026 Salary including COLA. That will show you how much your salary will bump up with the weekly COLA and it will compare next year's take-home pay with this year's.
Finally, you'll need to choose your tax band. If you choose 'married' or 'parent', you will be asked to specify whether you have one child or more. This will make the biggest difference with the new family tax brackets.
